PLEASE WELCOME VANNETTA CHAPMAN!
Thanks so much for allowing me to visit your blog! Today I wanted to talk about Project Linus, a big part of this story and a wonderful organization that we are supporting through the release of Anna’s Healing.
In my story, a young woman is tragically injured in an accident. When she finds herself a paraplegic she first goes through denial, then anger, and finally depression. She knows that God has a plan for her life, but she couldn’t imagine what it is. She can’t see it from the view of her wheelchair. It’s only when she becomes involved with Project Linus that we see Anna’s self-worth rise. Suddenly she’s able to do something for others, and by doing that — she’s able to take her focus off herself. Even from the place of her disability she is able to be the hands of Christ.
Although we don’t all suffer from catastrophic injuries, I think many of us have been in that place where we wonder how we can be a blessing to someone else. Sometimes we don’t realize the value of a small thing—a smile, a hug, sharing a meal, or even taking a walk together. But all of these things add up to one big thing. They show that we care.
One way we can show we care is through supporting organizations such as Project Linus. PL has donated 5 million blankets since 1998, all handmade with love. Some are crocheted, some are quilted, and some are no-sew blankets. What matters is that the gift is handmade and that it goes to a child in need.
I hope that you enjoy Anna’s Healing — a powerful story of faith and God’s love for us. If you choose to purchase it through Amazon Smile, a portion of each sale will go to PL. Also, I’m happy to give away a free copy of Anna’s Healing , paperback or ebook, to someone who comments below. Just tell us a simple way someone has brightened your day. (USA only. Winner has 3 days to respond.)
Blessings,
Vannetta Chapman

When the Lord has already had things working to help me threw a low time in my life, like I have been without an oven for several years because my husband was real sick and that didn’t matter right then. But when I got back in church and one of the brother found out about it he started working on seeing if the church would help. Then the Lord told him that the help would come with in my own family a few days later one of my daughters called and asked me if I could get them some information about the stove because they wanted to get it fixed for me for my Christmas gift this year. I’m a very Blessed lady.
Thank you for writing, Barbara! What a wonderful daughter you have.

What someone has done to brighten my day: I just texted a Mom (I teach 3rd grade) about her son and encouraging her to make sure her son puts his best foot forward each day. After a few texts, she responded, “You’re awesome!” Not many teachers hear these words!

One simple way is a piece of chocolate when they see me needing a pick-me-up. A simple act of kindness to me or if I see it, that’s enough to brighten my day.
Chocolate always perks me up to, Annie! Simple acts of kindness brighten everyone’s day.
